Specialist - Qualified Plan Administration

The ideal applicant for this position would have excellent communication skills, knowledge of qualified retirement plan law and terminology and extensive experience with Excel. The applicant must be very detail oriented as accuracy is a paramount requirement. Duties would include:

Job Description:

  • Answering incoming participant phone calls and email inquiries about various Employer sponsored retirement plans, including but not limited to, questions concerning 401(k) plan provisions, distributions, rollovers, and contributions

  • Taking detailed notes and maintaining the minutes of weekly calls with clients

  • Managing and supervising day-to-day plan administration, payroll deduction reporting, and billing

  • Extensive reconciliation of census and payroll files

  • Providing ongoing phone and email training to the billing and reporting team in India. Training includes detailed discussions regarding deduction, billing, and funding, clarifications on process documents steps and related matters, comprehensive reviews of reports and spreadsheets along with a detailed feedback. Provide ongoing support and interact when questions or issues arise

  • Coordinating informational webinars; answering questions during and after the sessions

  • Maintaining open items lists for all clients to track compliance issues

  • Assisting in compliance projects including the initiation of service requests, calculations and research

Job Requirements

  • Proficient with MS Office: WORD and EXCEL a must
  • At least 2 years of Payroll / Accounting experience and/or retirement plan work
  • Applicant must be detail-oriented
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines
  • Should be able to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential issues
  • Candidate should have good customer service skills and overall understanding of payroll deduction reporting and reconciling
  • The applicant should have strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities
  • A Team player with excellent communication skills
