Position Description:

Under limited direction and in collaboration with other service functions, Implementation Consultant will be responsible for the success of new client implementation onto the company's proprietary benefits eligibility management platform. The individual is expected to plan, manage, and close projects by following a company implementation process and adhere to timelines and client requirements. This includes understanding client requirements, developing a solution, utilizing resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party vendors in order to deliver implementations according to plan. The Implementation Consultant will also oversee quality control on the results of the implementation and serve as the primary point of contact and coordination throughout the implementation life cycle.

Responsibilities Included:

  • Give platform demonstrations to prospective clients and business partners
  • Manage client implementation project after the close of sale
  • Gather and document the client requirements
  • Create and execute implementation process and revise project plan as appropriate to meet changing client needs and requirements
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues and conflicts, and devise contingency plans
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, internally and externally, and provide updates to other parties
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, communication and presentations
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members, customers and other stakeholders
  • Minimize exposure and risk on project
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and organized appropriately
  • Conduct Quality Assurance Reviews of the system prior to demonstrating the deliverable to the client
  • Provide feedback on the system's capabilities and functionalities from prospects and customers to the company's product management team
  • Work on other activities and company projects as business needs require.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's optional
  • 4 - 6 years of demonstrated experience in benefits administration or HRIS management or software application implementation
  • Knowledge of how benefit plans (standard, ancillary and voluntary) are managed and administered and their associated eligibility rules
  • Familiarity with benefit account structures and vendor/carrier data exchange
  • Strong personal organizational and management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts
  • Experience in a people-focused role is strongly preferred
  • Experience in leading people (non-reports) and groups of people in a project environment
  • Able to work independently as well as cross-functionally in an organization to successfully implement projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain new concepts to audiences with no prior knowledge or information
  • Ability to document processes
  • Understands when circumstances require persuasion, conciliation, assertiveness, or other approaches and reacts appropriately
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and written
  • Ability to resolve critical project issues and find amiable solutions for all parties, protecting client's interests and timelines
  • Proficient in the use of computer programs and software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Visio, Outlook and Power Point. Ability to quickly learn various software applications
  • Familiarity with benefits / insurance industry a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Team-first attitude and a positive demeanor
  • Ability and willingness to travel independently to client meetings as needed
  • Ability and willingness to work, in the office or at home, during early morning and late evening hours as required
  • Authorized to work in the US
